Some of you saw this coming, and for those who didn’t, I apologize ahead of time. Yes I am breaking up with deviantART, and no, I don’t plan on changing my mind. And no, this isn’t an April fools joke. You may ask sovietsecret, somberchild2009, cordelia-kitsune, beautybythyname, dragonian-queen, to confirm my decision for you.
I planned at first to write out a very long farewell speech, but I do not want my departure to become a dramatic sort of fanfare. My reasons for leaving are numerous, but I’d prefer not to bore you all with them so I will sum it up in a few short words…

I’ve outgrown the site.
I’ve outgrown its drAma; constituting both the cliché of art-cliques and the drAma that surrounds much of the site’s sense of artistic achievement.
I’ve outgrown the system in which pleasing the masses for publicity conflicts with pleasing the masses in amusement that they actually like your shit work.
It’s true. At an age of 17, I finally hit puberty.

There are a few things that I haven’t outgrown, there are many artists on her that I would like to meet in person someday, and I’d like to extend a personal thanks to them for even introducing me to this site, because without it I wouldn’t have discovered my potential as an artist. However, I as of present, I desire to discover my potential somewhere other than this site. It’s been oppressing me for too long.

I won’t be logging on to see the responses that this journal might receive. I hope you guys won’t take this personally… I just want to avoid as much drAMA as possible (I know a lot of you expressed your disgust in my choice) and also, I need to quite COLD TURKEY in order to seal the deal. I may log back on in a year, or two years time, but right now I just need a new source of inspiration.

For those I still owe artwork and roleplay, I will hunt you down sometime in the future... because I never back down on my promises.
